Many banks and hedgerows have been removed from farmland and many have been neglected or damaged by livestock and machinery.
We have secured funding and managed projects for the restoration and creation of over 6.5km of hedgerows on farms throughout Dartmoor and the South Hams.
This includes hedge laying, coppicing, repairing banks, gapping up, planting new hedges and trees.
These hedgerows provide vital habitat for wildlife, as well as providing shade and shelter for livestock.
Hedges and trees also sequester Carbon out of the atmosphere and help to slow the flow of water within a river catchment.
Funding is available for hedgerow improvements and woodland creation, please get in touch if you would like advice on managing hedgerows on your land.

We have managed projects to install infrastructure that will help farmers to protect environmental features and improve wildlife habitat.
Many of these have been funded through the Countryside Stewardship Scheme.
